EUElection Winner Top Candidate Weber 1st move points at EF Project INTW on Citizens in EU Decisions

*Strasbourg/Angelo Marcopolo/- A Good Surprise of these 2019 EU Elections (in Addition to an UnExpected Record-High Turnout), is that the Winner, Frontrunner "SpitzenKandidate", German MEP Manfred Weber, from the ChristianDemocrat/EPP Group (the Biggest), in his 1st Tweet after the Vote, felt that an Important Priority was to point, indirectly but surely, First of all, at his "Eurofora" Project Interview, that he had given us recently, at EU Parliament's Spring Plenary Session in Strasbourg, last April 2019 :

 - Nowadays' Electoral Results "show us that European Democracy is Alive", (with a much Stronger Turnout than iniially expected), "and that", (in particular), "Citizens want to be more Involved in the Decisions about the Future", Weber stressed, this May, significantly.

- So, "Together, we want to Form a(n EU) Commission for the People !", he vowed now.

These Key Points obviously referred to what he had Promised, in Reply to a relevant "Eurofora"'s Question last April :

 - Indeed, "Europe must be in the Hands of (EU) Citizens !", Weber had told us then, (See: http://www.eurofora.net/newsflashes/news/topeucandidateweberoneuroforaproject.html).

- It's "Not Just about Bureaucrats, Technicians, or Politicians alone : It's (now) More up to the (EU) Citizens", as he had stressed.

    - And, in real Practice, indeed, the "Internet offers Opportunities to increase Participation of (EU) Citizens", as he had Agreed with "Eurofora".

    - "Eurofora" had asked Weber whether the recent Problems attested in Many Countries in the World about Citizens' Distance or even mistrust vis a vis Public Institutions, should be Faced in Europe also by Activating a largely untapped yet Potential of EU's Lisbon Treaty to Develop "Regular Dialogue" between "Civil Society" and "European Institutions" on their main "Actions", particularly by using the Simple and Easy Links nowadays offered by Internet TeleCommunications, with Regular Debates Before important Decisions are taken, which affect People's Lives and/or Society at large.

  => Indeed, Modern Web Technologies give a Chance to put Europe at Citizens' hands, instead of just Bureaucrats, and we must explore this potential in the foreseable Future, had Replied in Substance to our Question about "Eurofora"s Project, the President of EU Parliament's Biggest Group, that of ChristianDemocrats/EPP, German MEP Manfred Weber, who became, Now, Elected also as "SpitzenKandidate" (Top Candidate) for the Next EU Commission's Presidency in the period of 2019-2024.

    + A more or less Similar Positive stance, as far as the main Idea to use, inter alia, also Lisbon Treaty's above-mentioned untapped Potential for EU Citizens' Regular Dialogue with EU Institutions before important Actions, (Comp. Supra), has been Expressed, inter alia, also by French President Emmanuel Macron, f.ex. in a Reply that he gave to "Eurofora"'s relevant Question, only one year ago, at Nearby Saint-Dié, just after having Launched the EU Citizens' Public Consultations on Europe's Future, at neighbouring Epinal, during a Trip to Vosges Mountains, coming straight through on the Vosges' Mountains, from a previous important Speech in EU Parliament in Strasbourg, Focused, precisely, on Public Debates for crucial Decisions on shaping Europe's Horizon, (See, among others, also, f.ex.: ..., + ..., ..., etc).

    ++ This move was at a Straight Line, already with Macron's landmark Speech, symbolically given at Acropole's Historic "Pnyx" Rock, in Athens, as early as since Back on September 2017 (See: ...), including about Public and even Critical Dialogue with the People before Key Decisions, (which was, notoriously Followed by a presentation of his Proposals for Europe's foreseable Future, Soon After, at Sorbone University in Paris) : A Line of thought which had, in fact, Started since the Pre-Electoral Campaign for the French Presidency, (concerning that Key-point about Listenin to the People at First, Before taking Important Decisions), from the Beginning of October 2016 in Strasbourg's Congress Center...

    => Nowadays, in view of several Crucial Choices that the EU has to make Soon, for the Next 5 Years, Weber, (Speaking in Brussels Yesterday Evening, together with the Experienced President of the ChristianDemocrat/EPP Party, Joseph Daul), has just Expressed his Readiness to Agree some pertinent "Compromises", particularly "with the Center", i.e. precisely, Macron's Liberals.

    >>> The Point is, for Macron, that, given now the Results of these May 2019 EU Elections, (See: ..., etc), Liberals canNot form any Majority, inside EU Parliament, if they Limit themselves Only to the "Left" Side of the Political Spectrum, because the European People have just Voted a Majority for the Right (Comp. Supra) ! Moreover, in Addition, in case of a forthcoming "BREXIT" around October 2019, it's Only the Liberal and the Socialist Groups who are due to Lose a Number of MEPs, while, on the Contrary, EPP's ChristianDemocrats have Nothing to lose by that...                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

    => In Consequence, (and regardless of any Other, eventual, Diversion, including, naturally, probable attempts by Anti-European "Submarines" to slyly Weaken and/or DeStabilize EU's Franco-German core, by provocations and/or false appearances, at any hollow pretext), certain Strategic Compromise Deals, between Macron and Weber, etc., are  Naturally of the Highest Importance for Europe.

    + AnOther Trend, currently is, Nowadays, to also forge a kind of "Unity of the Right", to which the European People, have just Voted a narrow but real Majority, (See Facts at: http://www.eurofora.net/newsflashes/news/macronforcitizensdebatesalsoafter2019.html, etc).

    Whatever might be the Path that will be followed in fine by our Political Leaders, at any case, "Eurofora" would naturally be glad and constructive, if our main Project (Comp. Supra) might, eventually, Help to SaveGuard and/or Develop further Europe's Democratic Cohesion.

- WHY "EUROFORA" WAS PUSHED TO DECLINE Presidents' DAUL's + WEBER's nice INVITATION TO BRUSSELS :

* At the Last Minute, "Eurofora" was, UnExpectedly, pushed to Decline a Kind Invitation by EPP's President Joseph Daul, and "SpitzenKandidate" Manfred Weber, to participate at the Exceptional "Election Night" event, organized at a Symbolic Hotel (See Infra), near the EU Parliament.

In fact, everything was Ready, Both for going to Brussels, or Staying in Strasbourg, (with 3 relevant Events, by the Press Club, an Invitation by "Grand East" Region's Prefecture, and at EU Parliament's building here).

But, suddenly, at the Last Minute, the UnExpected Bloody Nail Bomb Islamist Terrorist Attack cowardly Targetting 14 Civilian People, including even a Girl aged only 10 y.o., (some of whom had to be Operated at the Hospital, under General Anesthetics, in order to pull at least a Part of 11 Metal Pieces thrown in their Body by that Nail Bomb Explosion, reportedly Made to Kill), Changed Everything :

- Indeed, at First, we were Obliged to Watch out and be Ready for any possible important Development concerning Nearby Lyon City, during 2 Crucial Days before that Exceptionally Important EU Election. (And a Strange Secrecy and/or Delay f.ex. Both on the Bloddy Nail Bomber's Identity revelation to the Public, and on the Final Qualification of that Explosion wih 14 Victims, as an eventual Accident or Islamist Terrorism, etc, obviously Destroyed a lot of precious Time: Comp. f.ex. .. , etc). It was any Journalist's elementary Duty, particularly after many Recent Years of Deadly Islamist Terrorist Attacks at the Heart of Europe, cowardly Targetting numerous innocent Victims, (including, Most Recently, even here, in Strasbourg, last December 2018, during EU Parliament's Session), with the notorious Consequence to provoke Widespread Popular Concern, as EU Citizens felt a Vital Need to be Safely Protected.

 - To this is added also a personal Concern, (particularly at this area of Franco-Germano-Swiss Borders, too often Hit by various Deadly Terrorist Attacks around it, for years, particularly between 2015-2019, including Bloody Gun Shootings right in front of our Family Home nowdays, but also considering many Other, f.ex. Airplane incidents, Capital Cities targetted, etc), which has pushed, as a matter of General Principle, to seriously Restrict Many, otherwise Interesting, Trips in Europe (even, once, at Nearby Stuttgart !)and/or the World, during Recent Years : Including, f.ex., inter alia, also some Interesting Invitations for Conferences to New Delhi (India), Shanghai (China), New York and/or Chicago (USA), etc.

That's why "Eurofora" sincerely Thanks Presidents Daul and Weber for their Kind and Interesting Invitation to Brussels, and Wishes them the Best, for themselves and our Europe !
