Sarkozy Faithful f.Minister/Party Head Bertrand warns Hollande: Isolate France - Germany weakens EU

* Hagenau/- Hollande "must never isolate France at the EU stage, particularly vis a vis Germany", because, "If there is No Franco-German Solidarity, Europe is weakened" in the World, "and that's not in anyone's interest", warned the winner of the 2009 EU Parliament's Election in France, former President of the Majority Party UMP and many times Minister, Xavier Bertrand, a Sarkozy faithful.
Bertrand was topically speaking yesterday, at the eve of today's May 23 EU Brussels' informal Summit, where the new French President, from a Socialist Party, had decided to present, for the 1st time in History, separate - instead of joint (as it was always done until now) - Proposals at the table, Differend and partly Opposed to that of German Chancellor Angie Merkel (of the ChristianDemocrat/EPP Party) and others, on the choice among various possible Measures for the EU Growth targets, anounced by the December 2011, January and March 2012 earlier Summits, (See "EuroFora"s NewsReports from the spot), in view of Decisions due to be taken by the EU Summit of June.
- Concerning certain controversial demands in this regard vis a vis Chancellor Merkel and other EU Heads of State/Government, "Hollande doesn't need a Translator from Deutsch in order to learn the meaning of the word "Nein !", Bertrand pointed out...
+ He also criticized new Economy Minister, Jean-Pierre Moscovici's (Socialist) alleged attempt, during a recent visit in Berlin, to "give lessons", as he said, to the experienced and generally respected German Finance Minister Wolfgang Scheuble, a Strasbourg's neighbour from nearby Offenburg : - "They (the new "Socialist" appointed Government) don't have the right to isolate and weaken, neither France nor Europe", but, on the contrary, they have the "Duty" to prevent that, he stressed, largely applauded.
- "In this regard, the "Identity" issue for France and Europe goes through (Strasbourg's Region) Alsace", ideally and symbolicaly located at the Franco-German Borders, sharply replied to an "EuroFora"s question Bertrand, speaking of a Region with strong feelings about its History, Culture and Values, that many People feel threatened today, and which just gave an astonishing 64% of Votes to Sarkozy, as the regional Chief of UMP, Andre Reichard observed earlier, pointing at the fact that this result was even Higher than the 56% - 43% which separated the Right from the Left side of the Political spectrum at the 1st round of the French Presidential Elections, (confirming "EuroFora"s calculation)..
He told us that in a meeting organized near Strasbourg by the out-going French Majority Party "UMP" (ChristianDemocrats/EPP), at Hagenau city, a traditional base of the famous former EU Parliament's and CoE Assembly, as well as f. Strasbourg's long-time Mayor and f. Prime Minister of France, the famous Pierre Pflimlin, who has notoriously contributed a lot to boost European construction's Franco-German "motor", (succeeded also by Bernard Shreyer, former Head of the French Delegation at CoE's Assembly), as topically reminded the UMP Candidate in the June Parliamentary Elections, Nicole Thomas, who is assisted by a former Counselor of Sarkozy, the young Eric Schahl, both apparently stimulated by Alsace's "European" role, at the same time that they promissed to "always stay close to the People", fond of values of "Work, Family and Europe", as stressed Thomas.

Europe brings Development dynamics at Global Crisis' Summit debates

Thanks also to EU Parliament Plenary's Strasbourg gathering, EU, during the French EU Presidency, managed to integrate the Development issues at Top Debates on the World Summit against the Economic Crisis :
For the 1st time, it's at the same moment with the Wahington G-20 Summit that EU Commissioner Louis Michel co-organizes here with the French EU Presidency parallel mega-events for the "European Development Days", starting from this Week-End and concluding at the eve of a landmark debate in EU Parliament, next Tuesday, on the outcome and follow-up of the Wash.DC Summit.
EU and its Member Countries are the biggest donor for UNO's Millenium Development goals, with 56%, but the 27 are currently struggling to develop a collective leadership in Economic and social matters, that the 15 of EuroGroup (together with the UK and other countries interested to be usefully associated) are starting to spearhead, after the initial success of the 1st EuroZone Heads of State and Government Summit, of October 12 in Paris, according to a New Repport by MEPs Pervench Beres and Werner Langen on the 10 Years of EuroZone (1999-2009) debated Monday and voted on Tuesday.
EU, CoE and World personalities will interact here with Heads of State or Government from Tanzania (African Union chair), Burkina Faso (CEDEAO + UEMOA chair), Zimbabwe (MDC chair), Madagascar, Haiti, Mali, Benin, etc, and some 3000 participants from the Economy, Civil Society, Media, Experts, etc, while the City of Strasbourg adds various related Citizen-events.
Opened by French Secretary of State Alain Joyandet on November 15, and followed by a video-contact with EU Commission President Jose Baroso on the Washington Summit Sunday, the EDD are concluded by Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner on Monday, while their main concerns cannot be ignored in the Debate that EU Parliament will hold on Tuesday, (followed by a Resolution on Wednesday), jointly on the G-20 Washington Summit and on EU Commission's work program for 2009.
A practical opportunity for EU to reflect where it's better to spend EU Citizens' money...
The move is prolonged in several Paris' meetings of EU chair, French President Nicolas Sarkozy with African Heads of State leading regional Organizations, as from Tanzania (A.U. Chair), Burkina Faso (chair of Economic African organizations), Togo, etc, (in parallel with a Ministerial EU - African Union conference in Ethiopia, followed by a visit to Tchad), logically concluded by a meeting with Robert Zoellic President of the World Bank.
Many have already warned that an eventual aggravation of Development's Gap accross the World might become much more dangerous to Global Economy, Security, Values and Quality of Life, than Global Warming and/or other, even more serious challenges...
Will they find an innovative and voluntarist way to really deal with the Development Gap, which might also contribute to help face the Economic Crisis ?
