The Elxis development team paid special attention to the creation of a user-friendly administration environment. Based on the experience we acquired over the years, and having a thorough knowledge of the daily habits and needs of an Elxis website administrator, we focused on the acceleration and accommodation of the main administration tasks. On the other hand, for the advanced Elxis users and connoisseurs, the 2008 version is enriched with additional features that forge Elxis to be one mighty CMS.

Elxis Administration is FULLY multilingual. It also supports Right-To-Left written languages (RTL), like Arabic or Hebrew. Your web site can be administered by users of various ethnicities and make everyone feel "right at home". In Addition the help system of Elxis has been changed, and is now multilingual in the 2008 version. In every administration page, there is available help in your language for the current task. In order to help those webmasters that keep web sites, in more than one languages, Elxis is equipped with a content items automatic translation system. In the 2008 version of Elxis, this system was expanded to the autonomous pages, and there is no more need for your web site to be published on the internet in order for the system to work (the system works locally, as long as there is an internet connection available).

In the administration control page, you are able to add shortcuts towards any internal or external page you desire. These shortcuts can be strictly personal or available to all those who log in the administration area. If you wish to log out, Elxis will provide you with a confirmation window, which will display you the total time that you have been logged-in. A converse function will take place during the addition or modification of an article. Writing an article may be a time-consuming process and may outlive the session time span. In order to avoid losing any data, Elxis shows the remaining time until the session expiration, during your articles creation. In the last 30 seconds, the indication turns red, in order to warn you.

An everyday administrational need is to publish and unpublish various items. In the 2008 version, the relevant icons have advanced using the AJAX technology. Another everyday need is the browsing through sections lists, categories, content items and others. Elxis provides you with an extended view, full of info, for every row. Sometimes, though, that isnt necessary when it comes to focusing on specific information. This is why we added a choice for changing the view type, from Extended to Simplified. Your choice is saved to a Cookie, and there is no need for you to keep changing it every time you visit the page.

Elxis 2008 has a brand new media manager, which is quite easy to use, and quite powerful on the whole. You wish to change the size of an image? Copy it to another file? Add a watermark (text or image) to it? No problem. The media manager supports all these actions. Perhaps you want to listen to an mp3, or watch an flv video? These are also supported. What else can be supported, you may ask? You can choose to view thumbnails of images (automatic thumbnail creation) or their type, change the permisions of files and folders, download whole directories and their contents in zip files, upload zip files and extract them, create and delete directories. You can also view an image preview in its original size and rename any file you wish.

Media Manager is based entirely on AJAX technology. The manager environment is quite similar to your desktop environment. By left-clicking, you can select a folder or a directory. By right-clicking, the folders options appear (rename, delete, copy, play, e.t.c.). By double-clicking, you open the directory. The selected object in highlighted with a different color, and an indication informs you on the actions available for the selected object.
