Top German EuroPolitician Schockenhof (57) dies after call for Ukraine UNMission+To Act v. IS Terror

*Strasbourg/Angelo Marcopolo/- After a very Symbolic and emotional last meeting with "EuroFora" at the Franco-German Summit which launched the Commemoration of a Century since the Beginning of the 1st World War at Strasbourg's Region Alsace, in Hartmanswillerkopf, together with Presidents Hollande and Gauck, (See: http://www.eurofora.net/newsflashes/news/frenchandgermanpresidentshollandeandgauckonww1andpeace.html), a very important Euro-Politician from Germany, of unique value and experience, Andreas Schockenhoff, was found Dead, at 57 years of age, just a few Months after launching a call for UN Peace-keeping interposition force at Eastern Ukraine, less than a Week after CDU's latest Congress at Koeln (where popular Chancelor Angie Merkel pictured Islamit State BeHeaders Terrorists as even more Dangerous than the Ukranian Crisis), and only 2 Days after he stressed the current need to "strengthen Germany's commitment to Halt the Terror of Fanatical, so-called "Islamic State"", (including, f.ex. by "Training Kurdish forces in Northern Iraq", where the German Army should be able "to carry out itself the Protection of our Soldiers", as he said).

20 Years President of the Franco-German Friendship Group at Berlin's Bundestag (1994-2014), where he has been regularly elected since 1990, Schockenhoff was also the German Government's Coordinator for Cooperation with Russia from 2006 up to 2014 (i.e. practically as long as Chancelor Merkel is in charge), until he was recently replaced by a Socialist successor. He consecrated his last Public appearance precisely to a Debate on the "Impact of the (Ukranian) Crisis with Russia on the (partly Agricultural, but also Industrial-Exports' driven) Region" of Southern Germany, where "some Fear a possible Cold War", after "Western Sanctions (against Russia) were followed by a Russian Import Ban on Western Food", as the Newspaper of his constituency had observed, with the participation also of a "Head of Foreign Trade Chamber of Commerce", in the Discussion held last Thursday Night and Symbolized by a Photo of Mocow's artful Christian Churches, (that he reproduced at his own, personal Website and Facebook account).

The Vice-President of the Governing CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group, and Foreign Policy Spokesman, who was notoriously against Turkey's controversial and unpopular EU bid, hold 2 Meetings in 1 Day concerning EU's Neighnorhood, shortly before the CDU Congress : From Asia with the Turkish Ambassador Hüseyin Karslioglou, (on which he Laconically noted that it was "Interesting and Open", or "Frank"), and from Africa with Representatives Michelle Ntab and Andrews Atta, (in the occasion of which he pleaded for "Africa" as "an Important Partner for Germany and Europe - also for Security Policy" regarding "the Neighbouring Continent", for which "there is Considerable Interest", since, Today,  "Africa...is also a Player who is Winning more and More Importance", as he stressed), "during a conference held by the CDU / CSU Parliamentary Group".

Despite a recent reputation as Harsh (some claim : Excessive, at least on certain points) Critic of several Russian Authorities' restrictive measures vis a vis various Dissidents in the Past, and/or on Ukraine (even if he Warned not tp overestimate the effect of Sanctions), nevertheless, Schockenhoff defended, on the contrary, Russia's rejection of Gay and Lesbian Public Demonstrations, particularly when they make Propaganda even vis a vis underage Children in the Streets, by saying that, at least Foreign players have to Respect the Host Country's Socio-Political character.

 - "I'm Stunned how Suddenly Schockenhoff Died. On December 11, still Active as ever - and 2 Days later ... It's Frightening how Suddenly this happened", wrote a friend in reply to the German Politician's facebook account. Indeed, the Slim and Athletic-looking Andreas Schockenhoff, from Neighbouring Baden-Wurtemberg's area near Black-Forest's superb Natural Landscapes, that he reportedly loved to cross, as well as to work on his Garden, aged ony 57, suddenly, after the above-mentioned CDU Congress at Koeln, he apparenty spend a Sleepless Night on December 11, (when he made 2 Publications just after MidNight and at 5 o'clock in Early Morning), just before participating at the above-mentioned Debate on Russia the Afternoon of that Same Day.

Heavy Financial Losses and/or Risks to even Close Down some Innovative German SMEs because of the controversial Sanctions against Russia, were reportedly evoked during that latest Debate, and, since then, the Top ChristianDemocrat Politician of Ravensburg, himself a Catholic, Father of 3 Children, and former Teacher at a Christian School, apparently didn't made any other Public move, after having Published at the Internet his Wishes for the Christian "Advent" with a Photo of a series of Religious Candles, (which somehow remind the series of Christian Crosses at the above-mentioned Russian Church)...

After publishing several Interviews with President Andreas Schockenhoff, met in Strasbourg (f.ex. at "TCWeekly"), Berlin (2009 at "EuroFora" : http://www.eurofora.net/newsflashes/news/schockenhoffoneuturkey.html ; http://www.eurofora.net/newsflashes/news/osceberlin.html ; http://www.eurofora.net/brief/brief/berlinforoettinger.html ), or elsewhere, the last time that we had a chance to meet him was at Hartmannswillerkopf, near Mulhouse, on the 100th Anniversary of the Start of the 1st World War, together with the French and German Presidents Hollande and Glauck, last August 2014, at a Crucial moment of the Deadly Ukranian Crisis which was making then Thousands of Killed or Wounded People particularly among the Civilian Population of the Autonomist Regions of Lugansk and Luhansk, who were facing for 6 Months Kiev Army's Military Attacks even with Heavy Weapons, (Comp. : http://www.eurofora.net/newsflashes/news/frenchandgermanpresidentshollandeandgauckonww1andpeace.html ) :

- Glad to see him, even at a place where Thousands of French and German Soldiers had tragically killed each other in a remote Past of a Divided Europe, the long-time Chairman of the Franco-German Friendship Group of MPS, (who had Studied also in France, at Grenoble University, and spoke fluently both English and French), and vice-President of the Governing CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group, told "EuroFora", smiling, that he was going "very well", and kindy asked our news.

- "What do you think about Ukraine, now ? Initially, France and Germany had succeeded to broker a Peaceful Compromise Agreement, back on February, (between former Ukranian President Yanukovich and all the Opposition Leaders, under the auspices of 3 EU Foreign Ministers frpù France, Germany and Poland), but afterwards it was brutaly thrown away (mainly by a notorious, but not yet elucidated, Deady interference of unidentified yet "Snipers" who reportedly Shot and Killed both Policemen and Demonstrators, provoking a Bloody, Violent Clash), and the situation has now become awful, particularly with all these "Barbaric Images that EU Citizens are astonished to see there Today, of defenseless Civilian People being killed almost every Day, etc. "Do you think that there might be any Hope for France and Germany to help Peace prevail , "EuroFora" had asked Schockenhoff.

 -  "It will be Difficult", (to broker Peace there), "but, I believe that it has a Very Great Value" for Europe to find a Political Solution, Schockenhof pointed out on Ukraine developments,  in a realistic but Positive Reply to "EuroFora"s Question, (about the need for EU to act against a Tragedy obviously Contrary to Post-War Modern Europe's officialy proclaimed Values).

 - For that purpose, - "It's very Important for the EU to remain United, and to stick Together", Schockenhoff went on to advise, before announcing that he "will be soon in Ukraine, not only at Kiev, but also in Kharkiv" personaly, i.e. at the same Donbass area as the embattled Donetsk/Luhansk Autonomist Regions.

    He saluted "EuroFora" with an unforgettable kind smile, (that a damaged Photo machine unfortunately hindered us to fix for ever),  the well-known "Molkerain FarmHouse" Hill Top at the background, there where World-famous Director Francois Tryffaut's Anti-War fiction "Jules and Jim" had been filmed, as French President Hollande reminded earlier at his speech : A story describing how two Friends from German and French Culture, succeeded to Survive both the Deadly 1st World War, and even, afterwards, any jealousy for loving the same Woman, but fall victims, later-on, victims of a futile but tragic caprice, perhaps as Schockenhof, evolving through various areas of Conflicts, "unexpectedly" died, reportedly, "from Natural Causes" at his Home.

Since our last meeting at Hartmanswillekopfs 1st Word War Memorial, he had visited and spoke about the current Ukranian conflict and EU - Russia relations elsewhere at many other opportunities, until the recent irruption of the growing Threats by Islamic Extremist Terrorists as ISIS'atrocious BeHeaders and Throat Cutters started to become the No 1 Concern for all Countries involved, added also to various other Islamic Extremists' Deadly Terror, from Africa up to Afghanistan and even China's auto-proclaimed "Eastern Turkistan" Killer Gangs, via Syria and Iraq, etc. (Comp. Meanwhile, the Governing German Party CDU/CSU's vice-President and Foreign affairs Spokesman was due to visit anew Ukraine at the eve of CDU's Bi-Annual Congress at Koeln, on December 5 to 6, i.e. when the main New Issue, (in addition to fresh attempts for a better implementation of the CeaseFire agreed since the September 5, 2014, Compromise Agreement at Minsk : Comp. relevant "EuroFora"s NewsReports from the Annual OSCE Summit of Foreign Ministers at Basel, December 4 to 5 : ....), was - and still is- according to CoE, the UNO, a.o., the extremely dire Humanitarian Crisis provoked against more than 5 Millions People living at the Autonomist Regions of Donatsk/Luhansk  at Eastern Ukraine, where, after the Cuts of Water and Electricity, as well as many Hospitals, even Schools, Family Homes, Transport Infrastructures, etc,, Destroyed or heavily Damaged by massive Shelling and/or Bombardments from Kiev's Military's Attacks during 6 Months, it's now even all Public Services (including Health, Education, etc), which were totaly Blocked by decisions taken at Kiev, leaving suddenly too many Pöor People without any Access to their Salaries, Pensions or Social allowances, Hindered even to access their own Economies as Kiev's Banks were also ordered to Close  and immediately Stop serving their Clients there, provoking unprecedented Sufferings to the Civilian Population during a Cold Winter Time, that some denounced as attempts to commit "War Crimes" or even "Genocide". To this was addded also the Astonishing Popular Success of Public Demonstrations throughout Germany against the Islamic Terrorist BeHeaders of "ISIS" as well as agains what many People feel as attempts to impose a kind of "Islamisation" inside Europe, last Monday, December 8, eve of CDU's Congress at Koeln, which, taken all together, can't have left the ChristianDemocrat Top Politician indifferent at all.

Could such recent developments of GeoPolitical potential importance, as "ISIS'  BeHeaders Tsunami" have played a similar role in Andreas Schokenhoff's mind, mutatis-mutandis, at this End of 2014, as the "Energy-Wendel" (U-turn) of Chancelor Merkel from Nuclear towards more ReNewable Energy Sources back on Spring 2013 after the Japanese Giant Tsunami at Fukushima, or not ? Even if we might never know with certainty, several recent Facts seem to indicate that it could not be excluded, or even was rather probable, sooner or later...
