Sarkozy's "Cry : - "Europe, Wake Up !"...

*Paris/(By Angelo Marcopolo)/- -"I Want to Shout  to this Europe, to whom I'll believe until the End of my political Life, to Europe, that I love so much :"  - "But", at last, "Wake up !", Strongly proclaimed, among Wide Popular Applause, an astonishingly emotive Sarkozy, recently elected Head of the main Opposition Party in France and Winner of the latest Local Elections throughout the whole Country, former President between 2007-2012, (period during which he also Chaired the EU, as well as the 1st €uroSummit, G8 and G20 Summits, etc), placing the European policy at the very Conclusion of his keynote Speech to a Congress with some 18.000 - 20.000 participants in Paris, which created a brand "New type of Political Party", named "the Republicans", (by a coincidence, at the eve of the forthcoming American US Presidential Elections of 2016, where the Republican Party, also known as "GOP", is expected to recover the White House, for the 1st time after almost a Decade since the latest GWBush era, before the Global Crisis).

- Because, recently, "EU Failed on Ukraine" crisis, and "in the Middle-East" region, etc., where, f.ex., "Easterrn Christian People, who are our Brothers in Culture, are Massacrated", even "Children are Murdered", "Millions of People are Terrorised; ... it's only  some Hundreds of Miles from our SeaCoasts", that, Today, "Huge Crimes are being Committed !", denounced Sarkozy.

- "What does our Diplomacy ? " - "Nothing !"

- "What does Europe ? " - "... Supplementary <<Quotas>> !" (for merely Distributing Immigrants accros EU Member Countries). I.e. "As if we might be able to Welcome even More Immigrants, while we can't even Integrate those who are already here...", he realistically criticized, on a highly Controversial point of EU Commission's proposals, that several EU Political Leaders had alerady started to denounce, as f.ex. Victor Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary, (who even took the Initiative to Address the Issue to the People, Democratically, by calling a Popular Referendum, that some Socialists attempted, but failed, to discredit during an EU Parliament's Debate with Dutch Commissioner Frans Timmermans, last week in Strsabourg)...

    After that,  - "Who, in the World, might still Expect anything from that kind of Europe ?", Sarkozy criitically Questioned.

- "Did we built Europe (for more than 70 Years, since the 2nd World War), just in order to arrive at this point ?", he wondered, among more and more Popular Applause.

 - "NO ! NO ! NO ! ", the experienced French Top Politician Strongly Refused.

 

 

  - "Did we built Europe, so that the European Civilisation may Disappear ?", he asked, speaking shortly after Extremist Islamist Terrorists of ISIL's BeHeaders had just notoriously Invaded even the most important Ancient Site in Syria, that of Palmyra, a UNESCO Jewel at an Historic and GeoPolitical Crossroads of Aramaic, Persian and Greco-Roman Civilisations, extended throughout more than 2 Thousands of Years. where, after reportedly Massacrating cowardly Hundreds of helpless Civilians, including Women and Children, had just atrociously BeHeaded 24 People inside an Ancient Theater...

    =>  -"Until what Degree of Impotency", both "Political, Diplomatic, Military, Economic", etc., should things arrive,  in order (to really feel the Need) for that kind of Europe to Change ?", Sarkozy wondered, amidst Prolonged Applauses from Thousands of People.

    - "Up to which level,  should Populists, Demagogues, Extremists, grow (in Political Elections), in order for Europe to feel the Need to Move, to Wake Up, to ReAct" at last ?, he Energetically asked, speaking after Rightists and/ore Leftists "EuroSceptics" notoriously Won a greatest than expected lot of MEPs in the latest, May 2014 EU Parliament's Election almost  throughout all or most EU Member Countries, (including, f.ex. as 1st Political Parties, then, in France and Italy, with "FN" and Bepe Grillo's "5 Stars" movement, respectively, while Great Britain's "UKIP" suddenly jumbed from 1% to 13 %, at the latest, May 2015 UK General Elections, Greece's "SYRIZA" Leftists seized Power while "Golden Dawn"s Rightists grew further, Spain's "PODEMOS" threatens to follow, Austria's Rightists advance, with, mutatis-mutandis, various Similar Phenomena spreading also in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Poland, and recently Starting to emerge even in Germany, etc),

    =>  - "There is, no more, not even a Second to lose ! - It's Now, it's Immediately, that Action is Needed !", Urged Sarkozy.

    >>> - "How Far should go European People's Loss of Trust, in order to make Europe Jump up to its feet, and for anOther Europe to be Born ?", he wondered, pointing at the Horizon.

    The Change of Ton, on this key point, from the 1st time that Sarkozy had focused on what he had called then, the "ReNaissance" of Europe, is Crystal Clear, and Interesting :

    - Back on July 2007, in Strasbourg, recently elected, then, for the 1st time President of France, with a Record- High Popular Participation in the April and May 2007 Presidential Elections and a Big and unquestionable Winning score of 53 % to 47 %, Sarkozy had Returned to Strasbourg, after visiting Berlin, (Comp. "EuroFora" co-Founder's NewsReport, published +at "TCWeekly", from Berlin, on May 2007), and Brussels' EU Summit, where European Leaders officially agreed with his earlier declared Plan to push forward a "Simplified" EU Reform aimed to give at least some Elementary Tools making Possible a Stronger Europe, after having Succesfuly overcome the previous Big EU Crisis of 2 or 3  Referenda, in France and the Netherlands, followed later-on by Ireland etc.,  Rejecting an EU Constitutional Draft by a loud and unprecedented "NO", mainly by promissing to the People to Drop Turkey's Controversial and Unpopular EU Bid, which had notoriously provoked EU Citizens' Fears that their Human Rights might be Violated in the Future, their Economic, Scientific and Cultural Development Degraded, and their Historic Identity and Values Destroyed. Sarkozy's main promise, in this regard, had been given earlier, just Before the Elections, on March 2007, in a Speech in Strasbourg, and stressed further in a Reply that he gave to an "EuroFora" Co-Founder's Question in this regard, (published +at "TCWeekly", then), and confirmed further, later-on in a Press Conference in Paris. Therefore,; his explicitly declared aim, on July 2007, was, precisely, to clearly Explain what he had already Started to do, at EU level, in order to Fulfill his pre-Electoral promisses, and how he plans to advance, in this Direction, in the foreseable Future.

    - "A New ReNaissance for Europe"' is "Possible", and People"need" it, had stressed, then, Nicolas Sarkozy. But, does Europe itself, really Want that ? From the Answer to this Question, depends even how the whole World will evolve, simply" because the Future of the World, will Not be the same, if Europe will achieve its ReNaissance, or not", as he had Warned then in Conclusion, (See : http://senas.canalblog.com/archives/2007/07/09/5559336.html ).

    As it's well known, later-on, in the middle of 2010, the Former Commission of controversial Former President Barroso, a  Globalist "SocialDemocrat" from Portugal claiming to be part of the ChristianDemocrat/EPP Party, published in Brussels a very Controversial "Report" attributed to a few, Unelected "Experts", under the Presidency of former Spanish Prime Minister Gonzalez, (a notorious supporter of Turkey's controversial and unpopular EU bid), which spend 2 Years (far away from EU Citizens' eyes), and more than 1 Million € EU Funds with a Secretariat directed by an appointed ... "Dr. Turk" (sic ! - even more : an obscure Slovenian often Paid by the Turkish Government as "visiting Expert" invited at Istanbul's University for a few lectures), on the Issue of "Europe's Future", concluding, (inevitably, in those conditions...), that EU wouldn't have, practicaly, any Historic Cultural "Identity", and that Turkey's EU Accession aim wouldn't raise any Problem at all, and even be a "must" !...

    That obviously Inglorious Paper of a few obscure Bureaucrats, consuming 1 Million € under the Direction of a ... "Dr. Turk" (sic !), and a former "Socialist" Prime Minister, (notorious Pal of Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan), was supposed to be the Only "Reply", by Mr. Barroso's Commission, to the Deal agreed, since August 2007, (through the intermediary of former French Prime Minister Francois Fillon), with the New and Popular French Government, widely plebiscitated by the People in the 2007 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections, as well as in the 2009 EU Parliament's Elections, according which, Sarkozy had acccepted Barroso's wish to Postpone "sine die" that Part of his Pre-Electoral Promisses which asked to Stop the controversial and unpopular EU - Turkey Accession Negotiations, in exchange, for Barroso to OK France's "Freeze"of  4 - 5 Chapters, (considered to be at the Core of a Full EU Membership) , and to Launch a Pan-European Public Debate, at Top Political level, on EU's Future, which would inevitably discus also the Question of Turkey's controversial and unpopular EU bid... To the sole "Exception" of a few routine Monologues of some Individual Heads of State/Government (particularly those in Favor of letting Turkey enter inside the EU...), from times to times invited at EU Parliament to make a Lonely Speech, more and more Boring, and without any practical consequence...

=> So, Today, on the contrary, and given what has really Happened meanwhile, as well as what Tragic Events are going on Nowadays around the EU (Comp. Supra), , Sarkozy declares from the outset, that Action in order to lay New Foundations for Europe, is Necessary on May 20154 and Long OverDue, even Urgent and No 1 Priority (Comp. Supra) !

- "Who will take the Initiative for building such New Foundations" for Europe ? ... - Who will remind to Euope that its Future depends on the South, from Africa, and from the East, with Russia ?", he, moreover, wondered.

- "Who else, if not France ?", he started to reply, ambbitiously, (reminding, by the way, f.ex., also "the Foundation of the <<Union for the Mediterranean>>", back on 2008, with an exceptional EU, African and Middle East Heads of States/Governments' Summit, held then at the "Grand Palais" in Paris, (See + "EuroFora" co-Founder's NewsReports from that UfM Summit, f.ex. : ....), when France had just started to hold EU's rotating Presidency).

- "But, only if France is ReConciled with itself, only if it becomes anew Re-United by Trust, will be Able to undertake such (PanEuropean) Initiatives, by Opposing that Trust to those who search to Divide her by Terror. And, only the Republic can give that Trust, so that everyone becomes Able to undertake such Initiatives", Sarkozy Warned, in conclusion.

>>> Precisely, "that's why, Today, we have Founded a New Kind of (Political) Movement, in which You (the People), shall always have the Last Word", promised the President of that new Party of "the Republicans", reminding that Strategic, Key-Point, on which Focused, also, his Friend, German Chancelor Angie Merkel's televised Message, reproduced earlier during Today's Congress in Paris, where, addressing "Best Wishes" to Sarkozy and their "Friends",  she observed that the French Republicans "decide, Today, on the Orientations of your Party", among which, are mainly "Measures to boost inner Democracy and DeCentralisation, which should Strengthen the Party", and added that, also in Germany, Today, "the CDU also, pursues further Democratisation, in order to give to its Members more and better Possibilities to make tehir Voice Heard, during its Decision-Making Process", as Merkel said.
 

 - It's about "a New kind of (Political) Movement, which will be Open to Society" at large, "Welcoming all Differencies", promissed, indeed, Sarkozy. F.ex., earlier Today, during 5 to 6 Hours-long of collective Exchanges, "i Heard Many Speeches..." But, "I deteste Uniformity, and I passionately Love my Freedom, so that I'd never infringe on anyone's Liberrty : Let's Welcome Different points of view", in "a Different kind of Movement, which Turns its Back on Sectarism, (contrary to most Socialists)", he invited. SIgnificantly, the Head of "the Republicans" notoriously aims to use largely the Internet, as one among various practical means for Direct Contacts with Members of that New Political Party and its Fans, as well as the People at large, particularly on  some among the most Important Isssues, mainly for Debating before Final Decisions, but also, at several occasions, for Voting on their preferable Choices, (almost as "EuroFora" had earlier suggested, about Public Decision-making, and as Sarkozy already did f.ex. by using Internet Forums in order to hold a systematic Public Debate before Adopting several Controversial Reforms on certain Crucial Issues at the BioEthical Legislation of France, as he had previously promissed also to then Pope Benedict, when he had made an official visit back on 2008 : Comp., f.ex., among others, also : ........ + .......).

 - In fact, this is because of "our Duty vis a vis France, our Duty vis a vis Europe, and of our Duty vis a vis a certain Idea of the Civilisation, of which we are Heirs !", Sarkozy strongly stressed, on this noedal point.

- Naturaly, "we are not alone in the World to be concerned about Peace, ... we are not alone in Europe, and it's not alone that we shall Win  the Fight of Civilisation against Barbary", warned the experienced former President of France, obviously pointing mainly at the recent Threats provoked by Extremist islamist Terrorists like ISIL's atrocious BeHeaderss, etc., (Comp. Supra).

  - Since, "Chrisrian Civilisation's Heritage, and that of the Century of Enlightnment (1700 - 1800 AC), are not just mere options in High School's Curricula", but "has (Historic) Roots that we don't intend to deny", added Sarkozy, very Strongly Applauded by many Thousands of People on this Strategic point, (given also the recent, incredible attempt, by a "Socialist" Education Minister, Miss Belcacem, to .. Totaly Suppress the famous Century of Modern age Philosophers, of Human Rights and Democratic Revolutions, as well as of Science, etc., from the Agenda which had to be Included in the Program of History for ShoolBooks, so that, Today, a Child might get out of School without even having ever heard about the European "Century of Enlightnement" !)...

 - Simply because "We Need" those Historic Roots of Europe's Christian Civilisation and of the Century of Enlightnement (Somp. Supra), "in order to Oppose (them) to (Today's) Horrible Crise of Trust, which Threatens Civilisation", as he explained.
 Reminding Christian Catholic Pope John-Paul II's famous favorite Moto : - "Don't be Afraid !", Sarkozy observed that, often, it's "Lack of Trust, (which) creates Fear of Others, provokes Rejection, Agressivity and Violence, which  Destroys a Republic", as he warned, concluding that "Bring Back Trust is a Priority Aim".

 - "As Globalisation advances further, we Need more and more to Trust our ...Capacity to Decide in which Civilisation we want to Live", (f.ex. "our Nation", and/or Europe, etc).

 - But, "what could we Share" with others, "if we didn't have an Identity ?", he wondered. On the contrary, "it's because we have an Identity, that we can also  Share it with Others" :

- - "That's why it's Important to promote those Artists, Writers, Thinkers, who forge the Heart of our Cultural Identity" :

     =>  - In consequence, "We'll Never retreat on the ... Cultural Exception" issue, (f.ex. on Trans-Atlantic EU - USA Trade Negotiations, a traditional European stance, particularly for Countries like France, Italy and/or Spain, etc). Because "we don't want a "Flat World", with only 1 Language, only 1 Culture", etc.  "We want to be ... Friends with Others, Open to Others", "But also to SafeGuard what makes, for Centuries, the Singularity" f.ex. "of a Country, (like France", or Germany, or Italy, etc, as well as of all Europe),

    + At the same time, "a Republic stays Open, but reminds tp those who just Arrive, that it's not for the Host State to become Adapted to him, but for him to become adapted to our Way of Life", he added, as far as the increasingly Topical Issue of Immigrants' Integraton, is concerned.

    - In this regard, moreover, "Somebody can't become (fully-fledged) Citizen (f.ex. "of the French Republic", etc), "only because je might have here an Adresse, and a Job, But, moreover, if, in addition, he Shares, Together with the (F.ex. "French") People, a Language, a Culture, a Common Morality, and a Way of Life. He shares a Common Idea on what is Good, and what is Evil, on what is Dignified, and what isn't, one and same conception on Honour, Duty ; one and same Kindness, mark of Respect for Others; Shares the Values and Principles of the French Revolution !", advanced further Sarkozy, widely Applauded.

    => - "This Sharing (of Values, etc), is called : - (Cultural) "Assimilation", and it was "programmed by the Republic, since Centuries. That's why School and Education are Important", preciisely when one witnesses, on the contrary, "Today, an Horrible Destruction of our Cultural Identity and Policy", he denounced.

    The move obviously renews with the Famous "No to Multi-Culti", initially expressed by German Chancelor Angie Merkel, together with Nicolas Sarkozy when he still was France's President, joined also by British Prime Minister David Cameron, already as early as since 2010, that Merkel clearly re-launched at a Decisive, Last Round of her Succesful Campaign for the latest 2013 National Elections, on August 2013 at Ludwigshafen, (as "EuroFora" witnessed, then, on the spot : Comp. relevant NewsReport from Ludwigshafen : ....), but was, curiously neglected, if not censored then, by the mainstream Media in Germany, before she was, apparently, almost obliged to drop, at least its substance, and accept to back, on the contrary, some so-called "Diversity" policies, after being pushed (just for 4 MP Votes' distance from Absolute Majority !!!!...) into a "GroKo" Coalition with the Socialist Party, followed by an unprecedented Fall, with her Leg Wounded for many weeks, after what, for the 1st Time in History, a Turkish origin Socialist MEP was appointed Minister for "Integration", spreading everywhere "2 Passports" and "Diversity" controversial messages, instead... However, the latest relevant Developments, both  inside Germany, (f.ex. since the May 2014 EU Parliament Elections' results, where, for the 1st time, various New Small Parties of the Right emerged, followed by atypical Popular Demonstrations, etc.), and at the recent UK General Elections, (where, f.ex. Anti-Mass Immigration UKIP won from 1% to 13 % of Votes, etc), might Change the trend...

    Significantly,  the Experienced French Politician said that almost at the Anniversary of the "NO" to 2005 Referendum on EU Constitution, (which had spread then to France and the Netherlands, followed by Ireland), while New Polls have just revealed that a Majority of People has become anew Today, End of May 2015, even more Critical vis a vis the EU. Sarkozy had notoriously Succeeded to overcome Popular fears in the Past, mainly by promissing to Drop the Controversial and Unpopular Turkey's EU bid, back on 2007-2009+.

    But, recently, (particularly since the End of 2012 up to 2015, during a Socialist Government in Paris, followed after 2013 also by a 2 Big Parties Coalition in Germany, etc), People re-started to see anew various Attempts to Return Backwards towards Turkey's controversial and unpopular EU bid : Including, inter alia, f.ex., also by Continuing and even Augmenting regularly EU Funds in terms of both Full Grants and cheap Loans, (even despite manifold serious Setbacks against Turkey's obligations on Human Rights, International Law, etc), added to attempts to Open more Chapters for EU - Turkey "Accession" Negotiations, (be it on Energy or Courts, Human Rights, etc, after that of Regional policies, already opened recently), as well as to Ease even Further the Massive Attribution of "VISAS", while  preparing a Totaly "VISA-FREE" status for 73 Millions of Turkish populations scheduled around 2017, (etc).

    => Therefore, the latest Polls in France just revealed that, still Today, on 2015, a net Majority of People have become anew Opposed to EU Institutional developments, even more than back on 2005. While Rightist EuroSceptics of "FN", (which had recently become the No 1 French Party in terms of the Number of MEPs elected in the May 2014 EU Parliament's Elections) have just asked for a Referendum on the EU, (as it was already been Decided by the UK, where EuroSceptics of UKIP have just Grown from only 1% back on 2010, up to 13 % at the latest, May 2015 General Elections). In such conditions, EU Parliament appeared this Year more than evern, sharply Divided on Turkey, to the point that, for the 1st Time in History, during the latest, May 2015 Plenary Session in Strasbourg, at the Last Minute, Socialist MEPs  were obliged to ask to "Postpone" the scheduled Vote for a Next Session, because of several Critical Amendments which had a chance to be adopted, as, f. ex., on Sudpendig EU Funds because of the Constinuation and Aggravation of Many Serious Human Rights Violations in Turkey, tabled by British MEP Earl of Dartmouth, who strogly protested for this Unprecedented Postponing of the Voting Time)...

      + Last, but not least, in the Context existing Today, moreover, "everyone who sincerely  loves" France and Europe, couldn't avoid to Feel "Ashamed and Sad, to see the Highest French Authorities (i.e. the current Socialis French President Hollande), "prefer to suddenly travel to ...Fidel Castro" in far away Cuba, "instead of going to pay Hommage to the Russian People, for the Terrible Sufferings that they faced during the 2nd World War, and whose Courage played a Crucial role in the Defeat of NAZIsm" at nearby Moscow's PenEuropean and International Gathering, back on May 9, 70th Anniversary since the Victory against NAZIsm/Fascism (1945 - 2015), where, France, indeed, was exceptionaly Absent, (contrary to German Chancelor Angie Merkel, as well as UNO's Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, etc., who found one way or another to be at Moscow for this event), Sarkozy denounced, echoed by an astonishingly loud, massive and prolonges Applause of many Thousands of People from the Country of Historic General De Gaule, with his famous "Europe from the Atlantic Ocean, up to the Ural Mountains" famous Geo-Political formula...

    - At any case, "we shouldn't confuse our Friendship vis a vis the Russian People, with any Legitimate Difference that anyone might have with their Government", at one moment or another, he added, obviously indicating the parallel need to definitively settle the recently provoked  Ukranian issue.

    - Thus, on May 9, "the Right Place for the President of France was to stand, side by side with the Russian Authorities, in order to Celebrate the Memory of those who Died for Freedom, voilà !", concluded Sarkozy, triggering another Strong Wave of Loud Applause from Thousands of French People in Paris Today.

By a coincidence, the Founding Congres of the New Party of "the Republicans" was organized in Paris's "La Vilette" modern complex, the same Day that at the nearby Futuristic "Geode", adjacent to the "City of Science", was scheduled a Unique presentation of World Famous Music Group "the Muse"s High-Tech ("4K") Film of their Biggest ever Open Sky Concert in Rome, Italy, (origin of Sarkozy's wife Carla, herself a Musician), back on July 2013, (i.e. when Paris was stil brazing by various Popular Demonstrations, notoriously oppressed by the local Police with an unusual Brutality, which had just been Condemed even by CoE's Assambly in Strasbourg, then, against attempts by a Socialist Minister to impose Controversial and Unpopular "Same Sex Mariage" extended even to "Adoptions" of Children by Homosexuale, added to parallel Authorisation of Genetic Manipulations on Human Embryos, notoriously Dangerous for all Humankind, etc), with some among the Songs actualy used then by Protestors, which is now optimisticaly nicknamed : "-We shall be Victorious !"

    [ Significantly, Sarkozy's keynote Speech at Paris' Founding Congres of the New Party "the Repubicans", (which should not displease at all, at least in some Timely key points, the New EU Commission's President Jean-Claude Juncker, who currently prepares proposals to Boost EU's Common Foreign, Security and Defense Policy for the forthcoming June 25-26 EU Summit in Brussels),   even if it came just before an imminent publication of the official numbers for Unemployment, generaly expected to stay as bad, or even become worse, in France, nevertheless, he, exceptionaly ommitted to Focus his Criticism on the current Economic situation in Europe, prefering to point rather towards Foreign Policy, Migration and Cultural Integration, etc.  

Indeed, despite stil remaining hardships, a recent Public Debate in EU Parliament's Plenary last week in Strasbourg, already started to clearly indicate that, at least a Beginning of progressive Retrun back to Economic Growth has recently started to emerge throughout most EU Countries, while excessive Debts of a remote Past are slowly comming under control almost everywhere, with a few, even if important, exceptions. Apparently, Merkel's overall Economic Strategy, (which remained basicaly Faithful at least to the Basic Orientations already agreed Together with Sarkozy when  was still France's President, including, f.ex., the Completion of the "Banking Union", a Careful use of Draghi's ECB, more efforts for Franco-German Integration and/or €uroArea developments, EIB's Loans, etc., almost as it had been agreed to do, in substance, at Top Level, already since the Beginning of 2012), starts to work, slowly, insufficiently yet, (given also various other EU Countries somewhat Different Policies), but in a way which allows more Hopes for the foreseable Future, particularly if European coordination advances further... ].
