EPP President Daul calls to Revise EU Asylum/Migration Policy after Political Assembly in Denmark

*Strasbourg/Angelo Marcopolo/- The Experienced President of the European ChristianDemocrat/EPP Party, (which includes representatives from 41 Countries), former Long-Time Chairman of EU Parliament's EPP Group of MEPs, and Strasbourg's MEP himself, Joseph Daul, launched a Call to "Overhaul the European Asylum Policy", after a meeting of the PanEuropean Organisation's "Political Assembly" in Denmark, where they debated with Danish Justice Minister Soren Pape Poulsen, and Sweden's Speaker of Parliament, Tobias Billstrôm, etc.

Mass Migration Nowadays Tops as No 1 Issue attracting European Citizens' most Concerns, (closely Followed by inter-related Islamist Terrorism, etc), according to several recent Polls including Many EU Countries.

-  "European Citizens are expecting from the European Centre-Right long-term Solutions to ensure their Safety, notably by reinforcing the Protection of the EU's External Borders", stressed Daul, in accordance with EU-27 Summit conclusions initaly at Bratislava, already as early as since 9/2016, (Comp. "Eurofora"s NewsReports from the spot, f.ex.: ...+ ...), but also more recently in Malta, on 2017, etc, as he said on the Same Day that EPP Representatives held "a Minute of Silence" in Memory of the Victims of the recent Islamist Terrorist Attacks in Barcelona (Spain), and Turku (Finland), just after Hamburg and Wuppertal (both Germany), and shortly before Sugrut (Rusia), as well as more such various Violent Incidents in France, etc.

+ Moreover, EU should "Prevent Migrants from Crossing the Mediterranean, and Drowing at Sea", President Daul added, calling to rather "Help People in the Regions of Origin", which "will allow us (i.e. the EU) to fulfill our Humanitarian Obligations", at "the Same Time".

=> I.e. a proposal Similar to the Outcome of the recent EU - African Cuntries' Summit in Paris, which concluded in favor of Creating "Hotspots" at -or near- the Countries of Origin, while also "Stopping" Irregular Migration/Mass Asylum Seekers' influx through the Mediterranean Sea, where many Organized Crime Networks, particularly of Human Traffic Smugglers, are notoriously operating nowadays, (See, f.ex. : ...).

A Strategy that the EPP had already Supported at its earlier Summit in Madrid (Spain), as well as by a PanEuropean CoE's  Parliamentary Assembly Resolution previously in Strasbourg, (See, f.ex./: ...).

 - "We need a Comprehensive approach, ranging from Trade to the Economy to Security, in order to tackle Migration", the EPP's President concluded.

Daul said that in Copenhagen (Denmark), where EPP's Political Assembly,  (including also Other Ministers, f.ex. from Germany, etc., MEPs, and other various Top during 2 Days, at the Invitation of the Danish Government.

That Copenhagen EPP move comes shortly before Denmark takes over from the Czech Republic the rotating Chairmanship of PanEuropean CoE, next November 2017 in Strasbourg, for the Period of November 2017 - May 2018.
