EUCommissioner Reynders to EF: Hungary+Poland Procedure Not Excluded for Malta (Daphne Murder Query)
*Strasbourg/EU Parliament/Angelo Marcopolo/- New EU Commissioner on JHA, Didier Reynders, experienced former vice-Prime Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs, speaking to "Eurofora" after an important meeting of EU Parliament's LIBE Committee this Evening in Strasbourg, which discussed the 1st Visit to Turkey by the vice-President of EU Commission, Margarites Schinas, as well as the Monitoring of the situation in Hungary and Poland, before to address the "Hot" issue of Web-Journalist Daphne's Murder in Malta, did Not Exclude at all for a Similar Procedure (as vis a vis Hungary and Poland, currently Article 7) to be, eventually, used Also in the case of Malta, particularly if relevant developments become too Nasty, at the present crucial juncture (Comp, f.ex.: ..., etc).
-"We'll see !", Reynders (a Center-Right Politician) Carefully Reserved his Judgement on whether such a Procedure should be Extended also for Malta, if things don't ameliorate concerning the notorious Problems faced, until now, by the Investigation on Web-Journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia's Brutal Murder, where the Instigators still remain UnKnown, while controversial Prime Minister Muscat (a Socialist) still Insists to Stick to his Job, at least until Mid-January 2020, even if his Chief of Staff and a Minister, around him, were Recently Obliged to Resign, and Revelations about links between a Middleman and his own Surroundings have Multiplied, in Addition to Growing Denonciations about astonishing Conflicts of Interest affecting Many among those currently Responsible for the Enquiry.
-----------------------------------------
- In particular, - "We shall see Tomorrow", the Competent EU Commissioner Added, pointing at a landmark EU Parliament's Plenary Debate on Daphne's case, Tuesday Morning, due to be Followed by a MEPs' Vote for a Resolution on Wednesday Noon.
+ Earlier, he had Surprized, by Unexpectedly expressing his Interest to Continue Attending the "LIBE" Committee's Work ToNight, Even After it had Finished the Examination of the cases of Hungary and Poland, for which Reynders had officialy come, Leaving Only Malta to be Discussed Last...
- But, Suddenly, the competent Rapporteur, Dutch Liberal MEP Sophie In't Veld, theatrically cuts the discussion short, Announcing a Demand for her Report on Malta to be ... "Postponed" !
=> - "Marvelous Initiative !", proclames, spontaneously, the Socialist MEP Claude Moraes, Chairman of the LIBE Committee, (attributing his Joy not to Politics, but to the fact that "some have not yet got the Time to Eat" something for Diner, as he pointed out)...
- When "Eurofora" asks Sophie In't Veld Why she apparently ..."Frustrated" even EU Commissioner Reynders, by that, apparently UnExpected Announcement that her Malta Report was due to be "Postponed" for much Later-on, she Replies that he would have "Spoken" with several People about it, so that, Nowadays, it's Only "a Resolution" which will be Debated and Voted during this December 2019 Plenary Session, while, on the Contrary, her "Report on the Mission" of EU Parliament's Delegation to Malta, that it Visited on December 2 to 3, 2019, its Findings and Propositions for Action in the foreseable Future, etc., would, indeed, be "Postponed for Next Year"...
According to EU Parliament's Agenda, the Next "LIBE" Committee's Meeting is no sooner than on January 9, 2020, i.e. practically at the Eve of the Next Plenary Session which Starts on January 13, 2020.
>>> I.e., by a "Coincidence", all This Fits perfectly well the Date of "January 12", 2020, that controversial Maltese Socialist Prime Minister Muscat has notoriously Chosen for his own Resignation, under Pretext to Supervise the Investigation on Daphne's Murder.
While, on the Contrary, the Victim's Family and Friends, as well as the Opposition, (mainly Center-Right, but not only), have Urged for Muscat's Resignation already Since End November 2019, Arguying that, Otherwise, he Risks to Deviate the Investigation from its normal Direction, by Influencing its course through the Numerous Cronies that he has Placed around each Step to make, during the Crucial Next 40 Days (Comp., f.ex:.., etc).

Europe brings Development dynamics at Global Crisis' Summit debates
Thanks also to EU Parliament Plenary's Strasbourg gathering, EU, during the French EU Presidency, managed to integrate the Development issues at Top Debates on the World Summit against the Economic Crisis :
For the 1st time, it's at the same moment with the Wahington G-20 Summit that EU Commissioner Louis Michel co-organizes here with the French EU Presidency parallel mega-events for the "European Development Days", starting from this Week-End and concluding at the eve of a landmark debate in EU Parliament, next Tuesday, on the outcome and follow-up of the Wash.DC Summit.
EU and its Member Countries are the biggest donor for UNO's Millenium Development goals, with 56%, but the 27 are currently struggling to develop a collective leadership in Economic and social matters, that the 15 of EuroGroup (together with the UK and other countries interested to be usefully associated) are starting to spearhead, after the initial success of the 1st EuroZone Heads of State and Government Summit, of October 12 in Paris, according to a New Repport by MEPs Pervench Beres and Werner Langen on the 10 Years of EuroZone (1999-2009) debated Monday and voted on Tuesday.
EU, CoE and World personalities will interact here with Heads of State or Government from Tanzania (African Union chair), Burkina Faso (CEDEAO + UEMOA chair), Zimbabwe (MDC chair), Madagascar, Haiti, Mali, Benin, etc, and some 3000 participants from the Economy, Civil Society, Media, Experts, etc, while the City of Strasbourg adds various related Citizen-events.
Opened by French Secretary of State Alain Joyandet on November 15, and followed by a video-contact with EU Commission President Jose Baroso on the Washington Summit Sunday, the EDD are concluded by Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner on Monday, while their main concerns cannot be ignored in the Debate that EU Parliament will hold on Tuesday, (followed by a Resolution on Wednesday), jointly on the G-20 Washington Summit and on EU Commission's work program for 2009.
A practical opportunity for EU to reflect where it's better to spend EU Citizens' money...
The move is prolonged in several Paris' meetings of EU chair, French President Nicolas Sarkozy with African Heads of State leading regional Organizations, as from Tanzania (A.U. Chair), Burkina Faso (chair of Economic African organizations), Togo, etc, (in parallel with a Ministerial EU - African Union conference in Ethiopia, followed by a visit to Tchad), logically concluded by a meeting with Robert Zoellic President of the World Bank.
Many have already warned that an eventual aggravation of Development's Gap accross the World might become much more dangerous to Global Economy, Security, Values and Quality of Life, than Global Warming and/or other, even more serious challenges...
Will they find an innovative and voluntarist way to really deal with the Development Gap, which might also contribute to help face the Economic Crisis ?
