EU Commission's purely Trade issues should not provoke Problems against EU Candidates and/or potential Candidates, (as they did recently with Ukraine and even Iceland, on Customs Taxes/WTO and Fischeries, respectively), when they are Culturally, Historically, and Geopolitically European, as Reykiavik and Kiev.

Simply because if the EU is to evolve into a Political Union sooner or later, obviously what counts most is Political Consciousness, Cultural and Social Cohesion, GeoPolitical links, level of Education/Science/Technology, Historic and current Identity,  etc.

Not merely Markets....

Even EU's predecessors : the Communities of Coal/Steel and Agricultural policies', etc., concerned Production, not only Trade, which was GeoPolitically reunified or interlinked thanks to European Political Will with Popular support.

In the case of Turkey's unopular bid, it's  the Contrary. But that's precisely the Wrong, counter-example; or Errror to Rectify. Isn't it ? Who would like to assume the Heavy Responsibility, vis a vis EU Citizens, to raise Obstacles to clearly European Countries as Ukraine and Iceland, while, on the contrary, pushing for... Turkey ?
