If Russia falls in the ridiculous Trap, set up by Turkey, to divert its Gas supplies for the EU,  towards its extreme East and South,i.e.  via the far away Turkish Anatolia, (an incredible Waste of Time, efforts and Money, and a blatant GeoPolitical Blunder), then, Europe will practically cease to exist as an Independent region, since almost any drop of Energy for the EU would, in fact, be submitted on USA's mercy, just by pressing a button...
