Foreign Trade Deficit rose from 27,4 to 48,6 Billions $, (i.e. + 77,3% year-on-year), during the first 9 Months of 2010 in Turkey, ANA reported.
But Turkey's trade Deficit is ... more than Threee Times Bigger ( + 300 % !) vis a vis Non-EU Countries, than vis a vis the EU : 37 Billions $ compared to only 12, during the first nine months of 2010 ! Thus, Turkish foreign Trade balance depends heavily on the EU, and exploits much more the Trade privileges EU has given to Ankara, than vis a vis any other part of the World... I.e., if EU stopped giving Trade Privileges to Turkey (since the 1995 Trade Union and the 1999 EU Negotiations for a closer link, f.ex. a Privileged Partnership), then, Ankara's Foreign Trade Deficit would be in an even Worse shape, probably heading towards another Crisis !
However, EU Countries have a Smaller part than Non-EU Countries in Turkey's Exports (only 29,1 compared to 42,5 Billions $) and Imports (only 50,3 compared to 79,5 Billions $) during the first nine months of 2010. In addition, EU's share in Turkey's Exports dropped - 0.9% on September 2010.
