After USA MIT's, UN-backed, Greek-American Professor Nicholas Negroponte's famous "One Laptop for each Child" Plan to produce a 100$ Computer, (in the meantime sold $ 200), now India steps in with a project to fabricate a new Computer costing only 35 $ apiece (subsidised by the Indian State for Students to bring price down to 20 $) !

The main idea is to use Memory Cards, Tablet design and Open source Software, added to a State's political will. Word processing, Internet browsing, and Video Conference abilities, as well as a Solar Power option are scheduled for "the Cheapest Computer in the World".

Interested Manufacturers are reportedly lining up to get Indian State's preference for a forthcoming deal.
