"Hot" fight between 3 candidates for the job of European Ombudsman, ("Citizens' Defender", according to the Spanish version, or "Mediator", according to other approaches).

The present EU Ombudsman, prof. Nikiforos Diamandouros, is challenged by Vittorio Bottoli and Pierre-Yves Monette, from Italy and Belgium, respectively.

EuroMPs will vote on Wednesday, January 20, in Strasbourg.
