German Reg. Elections : Socialdems cashed, Christiandemocrats 1st, CDU/FDP New Majority in Saxony

Spectacular failure for Socialdems (SPD), strong 1st place for Cristiandemocrats (CDU), and possibility for New Majority CDU/FDP in Saxen. Usual SPD partners :  the Greens are down, the Liberals do better, and Linke (left) is up : These are the main results of the 3 Regional (Länder) Elections in Germany this Sunday, 29 August 2009.

Facts :

- CDU comes everywhere 1st, distancing with a difference of + 10% (Saarland) + 13% (Thuringen)  and + 30 % more (Saxony), its main competitor, SPD.

- SPD falls down in abysmal low, and even becomes marginal, outpassed by a previously small party  ... : Almost equal to the "Linke" in Saarland, SPD has just - 10% less in Thuringen, and ... - 20% less in Saxony ! (SPD diminishing down to only 24%, 18% and only ...10%, respectively) !

=> In consequence, in Saxony, a New Majority becames possible, with ChristianDemocrats and Liberals together..

- SPD's usual Partners, the "Greens", also fall down to almost 6% only, (close to "various" - "sonstige") in Saarland and Thuringen, and even ...less than the "various" in Saxony)...

- On the contrary, CDU's possible new Partners, the Liberals (FDP), grow up to 7,6%, 9,2% and 10% in Thuringen, Saarland and Saxony, recpectively.

- The Linke (Left) marks good scores, with 20, 21; and 27% : It becomes the real opposition, after SPD was marginalized.

- CDU holds 32, 35 and 41%. It's good for Europe that the Franco-German couple Sarkozy-Merkel will be able to boost EU's role in the World. But the score isn't better than in 2004, when People liked strong critics because they wanted to change from too many years of Socialist rule and Turkish mig-mar. Therefore, CDU/CSU should now re-think, spice up and revitalize their electoral campain...
