Title: Citizens' Preference Vote, instead of Closed List chosen by2014 EU Chair, Greece Post by: Ocean on February 13, 2014, 02:56:53 PM In order to give Wider possibilities for Choice to EU Citizens, and bring the May 2014 EU Election "closer to the People", present EU 2014 Chair, Greece, reportedly decided, for the 1st time, to introduce an Electoral System of "Preference Vote" : - Each EU Citizen will be able to choose (f.ex. by marking with a Cross one or another among the Names of the Candidates who figure in the List presented by his favorite political party) the Candidate that he/she prefers, and the order of his preferences. To facilitate that move, all Parties' Lists must Double the Number of Candidates that they will present to May 2014 EU Elections, resulting in much more Numerous EU Candidates than ever in the History of the country... |
