An "invitation", for " all those who access Cyberspace", "to realise the great Potential" of  "the New Technologies of Communication", which "have brought about fundamental shifts in the ways in which news and information are disseminated and in how people communicate and relate to each other", "through the Digital World", "across our increasingly Technological World", was launched by Pope Benedict on the occasion of the World Communications Day (Sunday, 24 May 2009).

But this should be used "in a Positive way build up Bonds of Friendship and Solidarity that can contribute to a Better World", he said, "encouraging" particularly "Young People", "to be Careful to maintain and promote a Culture of Respect, Dialogue and authentic Friendship where the values of Truth, Harmony and Understanding can flourish", by "bearing witness to your faith" "so that the Good News of God's infinite Love for all People, will resound in New Ways".
