=> Strasbourg has many empty EU buildings with offices of good quality, around EU Parliament's tower, and could immediately provide shelter for all EU Commissioners and their main staff. After all, each Month EU Commission holds a collective Session in Strasbourg, and several EU Commissioners stay all the week of EU Parliament's monthly session to reply to MEP's Questions, announce measures, etc. >>> Wouldn't it cost less if all the EU Commissioners stayed all the time in Strasbourg ? (They could leave, at least for the moment, in Brussels only the middle and lower-grade Secretariat, which could communicate by electronic means with Strasbourg's decision-makers). Brussels hosted EU Parliament's sessions twice on September 2008, when EU Parliament's building in Strasbourg curiously collapsed. (P.ex. le socialiste finnois Oli Rehn se debarassait de quelques preuves de versements liés au projet turc controversé "Nabucco" ?).. May be it should be transfered to Luxembourg ? (at any case, better keep some water with you, it might help to cope if it runs amoc. you never now what might really happen).. |
