European POLICIES and ISSUES / Medias -Education - Religion / Interesting inter-Religious meeting at the CoE
|
on: July 01, 2009, 05:24:39 AM
|
.. It had Education as focus, where comparisons and practical acquaintance with other beliefs helps.
It might hopefully encourage some States, as Turkey, etc., who reportedly obstruct Christian religious Education, Properties, etc, to be more tolerant, (particularly if they want Mosquees to be authorized in Europe)..
Comp. fex. the ECHR cases on "Institut des Pretres Français contre la Turquie", or about the Orthodox Patriarchate, Alevites, Jewish synagogues bombed, Catholic Priests murdered, Protestant editors tortured and killed, etc

EU ELECTIONS / EU-wide ISSUES / Respect People's verdict !
|
on: July 01, 2009, 05:21:04 AM
|
The most important "EU-wide issue" on 2009 EU Elections, is whether technocrats, lobbies, etc, will be obliged, or not, to simply respect People's democratic verdict !
Otherwise, EU will be inevitably finished, sooner or later, (particularly after 3 "NO", etc)..

European AGENDA / of European ORGANISATIONS / MEPs are preparing crucial Strasbourg's EUP July plenary
|
on: July 01, 2009, 05:18:26 AM
|
Decisive for EU's future (2009-2014), Strasbourg's July plenary session of EU Parliament, due to choose if and how it will vote on the new EU Commission's President, is currently prepared by MEPs, who have also to finalise the formation of their own political Groups.
At the same time, parallel choices on the next EU Parliament's President might have an exceptionally far-reaching influence, even on CoE's Secretary General's election..

An american company named "The multilinguist", or something like that, had already tried, a few years ago, to produce automatic language conversion software.
Does anyone know what happened next ?

Announcements / http://EUROFORA.NET interactive European News project / 2009 EU Elections proved the vital need for News actively involving EU Citizens
|
on: July 01, 2009, 05:17:25 AM
|
With a decelerated, but persisting majority abstention since 1999-2009, a boost to some Eurosceptic parties, and the obvious need for mainstream parties to become themselves critical against "technocracy", Turkey's candidature, etc, it has become obvious that in the 2009-2014 period, EU will either succeed to stimulate fresh EU News actively involving European Citizens, or it will fade away for ever...
Eurofora's project might help a bit..
